# Send Text Message — /api/v1/converse/send-message-to-user

> Send a plain text message to a user via Botsify Converse channel. Supply your API key, recipient ID, message type, and the text content.

Use this endpoint to deliver a plain text message to a specific user through the Converse channel. You supply your bot's API key, the recipient's ID, the message type, and the message content. This is a lightweight alternative to the more general [Send Message to User](/api-reference/messaging/send-message-to-user.md) endpoint, optimised for straightforward text delivery via the Converse interface.

## Request

**`POST https://app.botsify.com/api/v1/converse/send-message-to-user`**

**Authorization:** API key — pass your bot's API key as the `apikey` field in the request body.

### Body Parameters

**apikey** `string` *required*

Your bot's API key, available in the Botsify dashboard under bot settings.

**type** `string` *required*

The message type. Use `"text"` for plain text messages. Other values may be supported depending on the channel configuration.

**to** `string` *required*

The recipient's user identifier on the Converse channel.

**message** `string` *required*

The plain text content of the message to send.

## Example

```bash theme={null}
curl --request POST \
  --url "https://app.botsify.com/api/v1/converse/send-message-to-user" \
  --header "Content-Type: application/json" \
  --data '{
    "apikey": "<your_api_key>",
    "type": "text",
    "to": "user_9876",
    "message": "Hi there! Your support ticket #1042 has been resolved. Let us know if you need anything else."
  }'
```

## Response

A successful request returns `200 OK` confirming the text message was delivered.

```json theme={null}
{
  "success": true,
  "recipient_id": "user_9876",
  "message_id": "msg_converse_00123",
  "timestamp": "2024-06-10T15:30:00Z"
}
```
